TC-08
TC-08
hi ,
I have a TC-08 with me , after reading through the forum i notice that i can use this as data logger for a load cell.
My questions are :
1) do i have to add in any other instruments in order for me to use the TC-08 with a load cell with 1mV/V output sensitivity?
2)If i use the TC-08 as data logger for the said load cell , can i record data using the same TC-08 from thermocouples at the same time?

Re: TC-08
Hi,
You will need a single channel terminal board to plug into one of the inputs on the TC-08 to connect the load cell to - the manual for this can be found on our website:
http://www.picotech.com/document/pdf/DO ... e.en-1.pdf
You can also record data from the same TC-08 with thermocouples in the other channels at the same time simply by configuring the channels in PicoLog Recorder.
Regards,

Re: TC-08
Hi,
If your load cell requires some kind of external voltage to excite it then you will need a separate power supply for it. The single channel terminal board won't output any voltage to anything connected to it - it provides a means for input into the TC-08.
I hope this helps.

Re: TC-08
dear sir/madam
i tried to measure voltage (lower than 70mv) in one of the channels of the TC08, this went ok but the other channels are changing to unreasonable values, so i can't measure both temperature and voltage at the same time. what should i do?
Best Regards
Gilad

Hi Gilad,
Is your PC a desktop or laptop? Is your laptop connected to mains?
How have you configured channels in the PicoLog software?
This is most likely related to earthing.

Re: TC-08
hi
i am using a desktop computer, i configured cahnnel 1 to type K temperature measurement and channel 8 to mV measurement.
On the connector, one leg is ground and one is voltage less than 70mv.
it still affects the temperature measurement. what can i do to solve it. can it be current or input resistance problem?
Thanks
Gilad

Hi,
Have you tried the following?
Are you using a single channel terminal board for your voltage measurements?

Re: TC-08
Hi Gilad,
Is it possible for a schematic of your voltage divider setup please?
What are you measuring voltage of, and how is the wire connected to what it is you are measuring?
What ground is your voltage divider referenced to? Is it the same as the TC-08?

Re: TC-08
i purchased the teminal board and now i am using it.
i still have affect on other channels of the picolog.
the output of my device is 1-5V in one leg and 0V at the other. i think the reason for the influence is that the ground of the picolog and the ground of my device is not the same ground. i can i connect the grounds or how can i approach the picolog ground?
