Calibration

Post by u1128568 »

I have recently bought a 2204A and I am just wondering how to calibrate the probes. I understand that you need 2V pk-pk 1khz and so on, is there something more specific that could be used ? are at least near on?

Thank you

Sweet product :D

Hi u1128568,

You can compensate the probes (adjust the frequency response of them) if they are adjustable. If you want to adjust the compensation for the standard probes that come with the PicoScope 2204A, then the documentation showing how to do that is on our website here: https://www.picotech.com/download/manuals/ta375-ta386-oscilloscope-probe-users-guide.pdf.

Other than that Oscilloscope probes don't need calibration as they don't drift out-of-specification. It is the PicoScope that needs calibration at regular intervals to ensure that it is operating within the parameters that we specify, and you can either send the PicoScope to us for a factory calibration, or to a Cal Lab to perform a calibration for accuracy (we recommend that the interval is every year but it can vary). If your PicoSocpe was newly purchased from us then it shouldn't need a calibration, however, if you got it from a distributor, then it is unlikely, but possible that it could need a calibration (depends upon how long the have had it in stock).

Regards,
