Repeat click on any increment/decrement buttons breaks GUI
Repeat click on any increment/decrement buttons breaks GUI
Hi,
On properties that have increment and decrement buttons like Trigger Threshold and Pre-Trigger, as well as things like Number of Samples. If I click more than once on the increment or decrement without leaving a pause in between it cycles to the absolute minimum (if I clicked decrement) or absolute maximum (if I clicked increment) and the value stays there and cannot be changed.
The workaround is to leave a pause between clicking the button again, but it is quite frustrating when I forget and have to restart the GUI.
System info:
Model: PicoScope 2408B
Serial Number: EP210/0041

Hardware Version: 1
Driver Version: PS2000A Linux Driver, 1.1.6.18

Re: Repeat click on any increment/decrement buttons breaks G
Hi Justyn,
A new version of the software is due for release soon although I do not have tested this version yet.
Would it be possible for a trace.xml following the lock-up please?

Hi Hitesh,
The application doesn't lock up but rather the individual value (ie Trigger Threshold) becomes stuck - the rest of the software works but you cannot change that value.

Hi Justyn,
Would it be possible to provide a trace.xml file after closing down a session when this occurs?

Hi, attached is a trace.xml created using the demo device (no USB device plugged in).
On startup I clicked the "number of samples" decrement arrow twice, and it plummetted at high speed down to the minimum and stayed there.

Hi Justyn,
I've run a test on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS but not been able to repeat the issue.
Which Linux operating system are you using?

Hi Hitesh,
I'm using Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, with latest updates, on a Intel Core i7 machine with standard built-in Intel graphics.
What is your test machine? Is it running natively or virtualised?

Hi Justyn,
Our setup is Ubuntu 16.04 LTS running natively on an Intel i7 processor with dedicated NVIDIA graphics card.
Are all your drivers up to date?

Yes, all graphics drivers up to date. Very strange.

Hi Justyn,
Sorry for the delay in coming back on this thread.
Have you tried using the latest version of the Mono runtime?
If you are still having issues, please e-mail support@picotech.com

Hello there, I have just received my new Picoscope 2204A and installed the softare from repository. Same thing happened to me. My system is
Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (KDE Neon)
Intel i7-2600K
Nvidia graphic card driver 375.66-0ubuntu0.16.04.1
Picoscope software version 6.11.13-4r3
Picomono package version 2.10.8-1r02
I've also installed the "mono-complete" package but that didn't change anything

I was having the same issue with 6.11.13. I could not get 6.12.9-4r35 working, but I did have success with 6.12.9-4r19. I am no longer seeing this behavior in 6.12.9-4r19 (on rhel 7.3)Hitesh wrote:Hi Justyn and Ilaro,

As an additional follow-up, the buttons that changed to the left/right arrows work nicely for me. (i.e. the main gui), I do still have this problem with the up/down arrows (i.e. in the Arbitrary Waveform Generator gui). If I do not pause enough between clicks, they will count up to their max value and I can not change them until that gui is reloaded.

Re: Repeat click on any increment/decrement buttons breaks G
Hi bmdavis,
Was the issue with PicoScope 6.12.9.35 the same as in this thread or different?
With regards to the issue with the GUI if it is possible to send a video capture of the issue to support@picotech.com that would helpful.
