Re: FEATURE REQUEST: New Measurement 0-100 Rise/Fall

0 - 100 % does not make any sense.
for example if the value only go's up to 99.99% then you will have no rise time.
Same for 0 if the capacitive value stays at 0.0001% then you never have a fall time.

Re: Trigger settings question (sometimes missing trigger events)

The decoding and the transferring of data takes time.
If there is data on the bus during decoding and transferring to the PC you will start halfway a message.

What I usually do is disable decoding during capturing and enable it after I have all the capturing done.

Re: Trigger settings question (sometimes missing trigger events)

Change the pre trigger from 50% to 5% or so.
Use longer timebase so you catch the whole message
Make sure you have at least 5 samples per bet (preferred 10 samples per bit)

Re: Number of bursts with picoscope 5242D

If you have more scopes then you can use 1 with Picosocpe software to see what is coming out of the scope you use with the SDK.

that is because the capture is still running
if you stop the capture then you can zoom in.

Re: Run block function: Pre trigger samples

Code: Select all

# Set number of pre and post trigger samples to be collected
preTriggerSamples = 1000
postTriggerSamples = 1000
maxSamples = preTriggerSamples + postTriggerSamples
uuuuuu you do this yourselves with these settings ?
preTrigger = 0 will do the trick.

If you want to see some examples. https://www.ans-net.nl/picotech/20200420-EM289-mic-test.psdata digital decodering I2S and I2C with sample rate of 15MS/sec. at https://www.ans-net.nl/picotech/ are more examples also of CAN decoding etc. This can not be done with the low end 2000 series, you need a ...

Re: Which PicoScope is best for logic analyser functions

for the most extreme situation 1 second before the trigger pulse, what is the data speed of the signal you are monitoring in that case. This will determine the amount of memory you need in the scope to see all the data 1 second before the trigger (and/or after the trigger if needed) P.S. the demo mo...

Re: Networking a Picoscope

Because I wanted to to this for a long time I ordered a DS600 from silex. Startup is a bit tricky because on power on the scope identifies itself as a Cypress WestBridge. After first startup of picoscope software it changes to picoscope device and you need to reconnect in SX Virtual link software. T...

Re: Measurement units

Your scope x-tall is not precise enough to measure this. You need to calibrate your scope to a precision 10mHz source, and then measure the time of 100 or even better 1000 waves of the clock x-tal. correct this with the 10mHz calibration you found and then you can probably have a valid result. These...

Re: 2206B PicoScope 6 persistence mode

You have a CPU with 2 threads and a single core.
From the task manager you can see 50% load.
PicoSocpe software uses a single thread. So from the software point of view you have a CPU speed problem.
Because if 1 thread is taking 100% of its time it will show up in the task manager as 50% load.

Re: PicoScope 2205A MSO can't decode DCC at timebase >2ms

I am afraid you need a scope with more memory, your scope has only 48k of sample memory if using 2 channel you have 24k/S per channel. Every bit needs at least 5 samples (preferred 10). According the specs you can do 1MS/sec in streaming mode (500kS/sec if 2 ch in use) So in streaming mode it should...
