Re: Streaming mode python script for PicoScope 6000a

Ok I see the code is only half done.
Depending on your python skills you can try to convert complete the code from the 6000 example or even the 5000 series.

What I know from C code the overall structure per scope series is the same. Most time some minor differences.

Re: Looking for a different picoscope

As far as I know none of them is above 2V. Depending of hou you want to measure you have 2 options. 1. Use a DC amplifier search on amazon or aliexpress for OPA541 as in image below (this one needs + and - 15V to + and - 30V to operate correctly) 2. Use a external function generator search for JDS66...

Re: Noisy TA189 Current Clamp

if you do a low pass filter e.g. 1khz the signal is far better.

unless you want to measure low current at higher frequency's.

Then it is smart to use a 10 ohm resistor and measure the voltage drop on the resistor.

Re: python PS5444D MSO streaming mode, time discrepancy

I don't have experience with python but it looks like you are sampling at 1MS/sec and you are doing some calculations digital channel splitting in the callback function. I probably step on someone's toes but python is not fast enough to do the splitting and copying you seem to do in the callback. Ca...

Re: 1-Wire Bus decoding issue ?

the signal is probably inverted.

Then you get this kind of mismatch.

Re: Measure large signal with a small measuring range

It helps a lot if you explain what you are trying to measure.

AC or DC.

Voltage and the voltage range you are interested in.

and for safety reasons is it directly connected to mains voltage.

Re: Picoscope 4262 signal generator

This is chineese export so I don't expect a good THD.

If you only need 2V rms (I suspect audio quality control) you can build your own with a low noise opamp.

Re: Picoscope 4262 signal generator

I use this for output amp. It has a default amplification of 33 (i have changed mine to 10 by changing a smd resistor) https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/1005002346215365.html Be aware the output impedance is almost 0 ohm zo if you shortcircuit the output you will blow up the amplifier. Best to put a 10...

Re: Sampling Specific Points during a Continuous Stream ps5000a

If the software can control a digital output signal 3.3V 5V or 24V then you can let the scope trigger to this signal and make the required number of samples before and after the digital signal. This makes the timing far more precise then the timing is only dependent on how accurate you can set the d...

Re: Sampling Specific Points during a Continuous Stream ps5000a

And the decision to save some part of the data is depending on the read values or some software trigger from a external source e.g. TCP or software event. If it is from the sampled data can you use a advanced or normal trigger to do this in the picoscope software. If you can use triggers the resulti...

Re: Four channel Real-time acquisition from Picoscope 5444D MSO

You need to use streaming mode for this, if you don't want the gaps. Also 20Msps is 40MB/sec per channel, so 160MB/sec (that is bytes not bits). I personally think python is not fast enough to process this amount of data. Even if you write this direct to an SSD maybe you can pull this off with pytho...

Re: Sampling Specific Points during a Continuous Stream ps5000a

Can you give us some info of how fast your are streaming, number of samples / second.
and what the allowable timing tolerances are between the software event and the sample data ?

Re: Getting maximum resolution .jpg files

Personally I use snagit https://www.techsmith.com/screen-capture.html
This has the ability to save to .PNG and a lot of other formats lossless compression.

.jpg is a lossy compression. For a screen shot or a scope image you want a lossless image format.
